911 Apps Workshop
The FCC's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau hosted a public workshop to discuss developments in the use of applications (apps) installed on smartphones and other devices to contact emergency services. Topics addressed in the workshop included: how existing apps are assisting in the provision of 911 service, how 911 network architecture affects requirements for the app design and delivery, and future steps needed to encourage further development and integration of 911 apps into the broader 911 ecosystem.
