IMPORTATION OF RADIO FREQUENCY DEVICES CAPABLE OF CAUSING HARMFUL INTERFERENCE. Changed the delegation authority to waive the radio frequency device importation rules from the Chief, Compliance Division of the Compliance and Information Bureau to the Chief, Office of Engineering and Technology, and proposed to change the administration of the radio frequency device importation rules by deleting the requirement for filing an original FCC Form 740 with the Commission when that form is used to make the required declaration upon importation of a radio frequency device. Also proposed to amend the rules to clarify the language regarding importation for export of a radio frequency device to make the rule more easily enforceable and to address concerns raised by the U.S. Customs Service.
