On November 22, 2024, the FCC released an Order granting TRS providers a partial, temporary waiver of 47 CFR § 64.604(b)(1), which requires that TTY-based relay services be capable of communicating in ASCII and Baudot formats.  The Order waives the ASCII requirement for two years, or until the resolution of a related rulemaking proceeding, whichever is earlier.
