Downloadable Security Technology Advisory Committee
The DSTAC is a federal advisory committee that will "identify, report, and recommend performance objectives, technical capabilities, and technical standards of a not unduly burdensome, uniform, and technology- and platform-neutral software-based downloadable security system" to promote the competitive availability of navigation devices (e.g., set-top boxes and television sets) in furtherance of Section 629 of the Communications Act.
At this seventh meeting, the committee discussed a final report that summarizes the reports from each of its four working groups. The Committee also considered other issues related to the DSTAC's work.
