The 5th annual M-Enabling Summit on accessible mobile technology and environments for users of all abilities will be held June 13-14, 2016 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, VA.

Advocates, industry and governments from around the world will engage in an international dialogue on policies and innovations in digital accessibility. Confirmed speakers include representatives from Australia, Austria, Canada, the European Commission, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

Recent and upcoming policy developments in the United States, which will be covered by a keynote by Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass) on June 13

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler’s address at the FCC Chairman’s Awards for Advancement in Accessibility (Chairman’s AAA) on June 13 from 4:45 pm till 5:45 pm, sessions presented by FCC staff regarding the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act Scorecard, Global Opportunities for Real Time Text, and issues concerning cognitive disabilities.

The Summit, which will run under the theme “Accessible Technologies and Environments for All,” will showcase the latest innovations in advanced accessible and assistive user interfaces. Participants include private sector leaders, apps developers, policy makers, mobile accessibility experts and disability advocates. Exchanges among experts will take place in 5 major tracks: cutting edge mobile enabling solutions, Internet of Things and smart cities, innovation, inclusive higher education, and scaling up accessibility for business and government, including a program for Section 508 Coordinators with GSA’s participation.

Approximately thirty exhibitors will be on display so that attendees can learn firsthand about new and upcoming accessibility innovations.
