The FCC will host an event on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  This year’s theme is “Expect. Employ.  Empower.”

 

At this event, the FCC will host two panel discussions.  The first panel will focus on the impact of FCC efforts to implement regulations requiring access to advanced communications services on employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.  The second panel will address ongoing efforts of the FCC and the federal government to increase the participation of persons with disabilities in the federal workforce.

 

The event will be held at FCC Headquarters, 445 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC  20554.  The event is free and open to the public.  Sign language interpreters and open captioning will be available on site.  Live, captioned video of the event will be available at www.fcc.gov/live.
