Today the Chairman sent Congress the first biennial report required by the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA). The CVAA directs the FCC to improve access to communications and video technology for people with disabilities. Today’s report describes the FCC’s success in implementing the law and its work to make communications technology and video programming accessible to all Americans.

“On the eve of the second anniversary of the CVAA, I am pleased to report to Congress that we have had great success in meeting the aggressive goals set by this vital legislation,” said Chairman Julius Genachowski. “Virtually every part of the Commission has worked diligently over the past two years to ensure the effective and timely implementation of this new law in order to improve communications and video programming access for millions of Americans with disabilities.”
