As the Assistant Inspector General for Management for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Mr. Drake supports the OIG in its mission to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, violations of law, and to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the operations of the FCC. He oversees many of the organization’s critical functions, including budget, acquisitions, contracts, human resources, information technology, and employee engagement.  

Mr. Drake has more than 43 years of Federal service, in law enforcement and government oversight. Prior to joining the FCC OIG, Mr. Drake served as Assistant Bureau Chief for Management and Resources in the FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau for 3 years, where he was responsible for overseeing the management of the bureau’s budget, human resources, information technology, and employee engagement. He was a paralegal and an enforcement analyst in the Telecommunications Consumers Division of FCC’s Enforcement Bureau for 15 years, focusing on protecting consumers from fraudulent, misleading, and other harmful practices involving telecommunications.  

Mr. Drake served for almost 21 years in the United States Air Force as a paralegal and law office manager, during which he directed multiple offices’ daily operations, including recruiting and guiding military and civilian staff. He also assisted military commanders and senior non-commissioned officers with and advised them on matters of military discipline and those affecting the general welfare of service members. Additionally, he assisted thousands of service members with divers civil legal matters and examined and adjudicated thousands of claims filed for and against the United States.  

Mr. Drake holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Alcorn State University and an Associate Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.
