  • General Duties
    • Fall /Spring Semesters – FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez seeks part-time student externs for the Washington, DC office. Candidates should be current law, graduate, or undergraduate students with strong academic credentials who are interested in telecommunications, media, and technology topics handled by the Commission. Consistent with their academic experience, externs may assist the Commissioner and advisors with research, writing, analysis, and external outreach such as drafting speeches, social media presence, and press statements. Externs may also participate in meetings with various stakeholder groups. Externs may be remote.
    • Summer – FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez seeks full-time student voluntary interns for the Washington, DC office. Candidates should be current law, graduate, or undergraduate students with strong academic credentials who are interested in telecommunications, media, and technology topics handled by the Commission. Consistent with their academic experience, interns may assist the Commissioner and advisors with research, writing, analysis, and external outreach such as drafting speeches, social media presence, and press statements. Interns may also participate in meetings with various stakeholder groups. Interns are expected to be in Washington, DC.
  • Selection Criteria
    Candidates should be US citizens who are current law, graduate, and undergraduate students with strong academic credentials, an interest in communications law (though experience is not required) and a commitment to public service.

      • Multiple externship positions available. The positions are unpaid but your school may award credit.
    • Summer Internships:
      • Multiple positions for Summer internships available. One position may include pay. The others are unpaid, but your school may award credit. If you are interested in a paid internship, please also submit your application through USAJobs.gov in addition to sending it to Gomez.Inquiries@fcc.gov.
  • Application Should Include
    Resumé, cover letter, a 3-5 page writing sample (excerpts are acceptable), references, and most recent transcript. Please make sure to indicate the time period you are applying for in your cover letter.
  • Application Deadline
