Technological Advisory Council Meeting March 26, 2019
The FCC's Technological Advisory Council (TAC), comprised of a diverse group of leading technology experts, provides technical expertise to the Commission to identify important areas of innovation and develop informed technology policies supporting the United States' competitiveness in the global economy. The TAC is helping the Commission to continue the momentum spurred by the National Broadband Plan to maximize the use of broadband to advance national interests and create jobs.
This meeting included discussions on the final recommendations for the 2018 TAC work program. This meeting was originally planned and publicly announced for December 5, 2018 but was cancelled and rescheduled to January 14, 2019 due to the closing of all executive departments and agencies of the federal government on December 5, 2018 under an executive order issued by President Trump to mourn the death of the 41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush. Due to a partial lapse in federal government funding, the rescheduled TAC meeting on January 15, 2019 was cancelled.
