Locations in North Dakota and South Dakota

Consumer outreach specialists from the Federal Communications Commission will be in North Dakota and South Dakota from Oct. 17 to Oct. 21, 2022 to promote the Affordable Connectivity Program.

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

The FCC will hold two ACP enrollment events during the trip, helping local residents who qualify for ACP to sign up for the program. The details for the enrollment events are:

Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Minot Public Library, 516 2nd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701

Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022: 4-6 p.m. – K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library, 215 4h Ave. SE, Aberdeen, SD 57401

The trip itinerary also includes meetings each day with state and local officials and local community outreach partners. The outreach team from the FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau will be dropping off informative literature to share with residents at government offices, libraries, community centers along the way.
