Safe for the Holidays: Webinar to Avoid Holiday Fraud and Scams
The Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) in partnership with the Federal Trade Commission hosted this webinar providing information to consumers on how to avoid frauds and scams that are prevalent during the holiday season.
During the holiday season, as consumers are busier than usual, fraudsters take advantage of the season to unleash holiday scams aimed at unsuspecting. Staff from the FCC's Consumer Affairs and Outreach Division and the Federal Trade Commission's Division of Consumer and Business Education shared information on how to avoid scams when purchasing goods and services online through websites; unwanted robocalls and robotexts; charitable contributions schemes and cellphone and email fraudulent activities.
