The meeting will be held from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Commission Meeting Room located at 445 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC. The following presentations will be made at the meeting to commemorate the ADA:

·     Speech‐to‐Speech Services (STS):  The Commission will consider a Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that responds to several petitions to improve STS, a form of telecommunications relay service (TRS) for people with speech disabilities.

  ·     Report on the FCC’s Implementation of the Twenty‐First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA): In recognition of the 23rd anniversary of the ADA, several FCC  bureaus will report on the progress the FCC has made to timely implement the CVAA since its passage in 2010.  This will include discussion of the FCC’s rules requiring video description, closed  captioned television programs delivered via the Internet, access to advanced communications services and web browsers on mobile phones, a nationwide equipment distribution program for people  who are deaf‐blind, and contributions to the TRS Fund by providers of non‐interconnected voice over the Internet protocol (VoIP), as well as the Commission’s pending rules on text access to 911  emergency centers by people with disabilities, and the launching of the Accessibility Clearinghouse.
