On April 1, 2019, the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) released a public notice seeking comment on the implementation and effectiveness of the Wireless Resiliency Cooperative Framework (Framework). The Framework is a voluntary industry commitment to promote resilient wireless communications and situational awareness during disasters. In this public notice, PSHSB is interested in information about each of the five prongs of the Framework, including increasing consumer readiness and preparation and improving public awareness and stakeholder communications on service and restoration status.
PSHSB is also interested in hearing from consumers, including people with disabilities and those who may be disproportionately affected by communications outages.
Interested parties may file comments by accessing the Electronic Comment Filing System at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings. All filings must reference PS Docket No. 11-60.
