High Speed Services for Internet Access (As of 06/30/04)

We summarize here information from the tenth data collection, thereby presenting a snapshot of subscribership as of June 30, 2004.  Subscribership to high-speed services for Internet access increased by 15% during the first half of 2004, to a total of 32.5 million lines in service.  The presence of high-speed service subscribers was reported in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, and in 94% of the zip codes in the United States.
