On May 16, 2023, FCC Chairwoman Rosenworcel announced she had shared a proposal with her fellow Commissioners that would require video conferencing platforms to comply with accessibility requirements under the Communications Act.

At its June 8, 2023, Open Meeting, the FCC will consider a Report and Order, Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, and Order to require accessibility of video conferencing services for people with disabilities under the Communications Act and Commission rules.

The FCC meeting begins at 10:30 AM EDT and is streamed live with open captioning at www.fcc.gov/live.
