The 72 to 76 MHz Band serves several purposes, including call box operations and fixed operations. Radio call box operation is used by the public to request fire, police, ambulance, road service, and other emergency assistance, subject to the following conditions and limitations under rule 90.241. Other fixed uses must comply with rule 90.257. Applications for this band must agree to any harmful interference to TV reception on either Channel 4 or 5 and may need to complete FCC Form 1068-A if the land mobile transmitter is less than 128 km (80 miles) to a TV transmitter operating on channel 4 or 5.
