  • General Duties
    • Fall /Spring Semesters – FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez seeks part-time legal externs and undergraduate policy externs for the Washington, DC office. Legal extern candidates should be current law students that will have completed their first year of law school by the start of the externship. Policy extern candidates should be current undergraduate students. All applicants should have strong academic credentials and an interest in telecommunications, media, and technology topics handled by the Commission. Consistent with their academic experience, externs may assist the Commissioner and advisors with research, writing, analysis, and external outreach such as drafting speeches, social media presence, and press statements. Externs may also participate in meetings with various stakeholder groups. Externs may be remote.
    • Summer – FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez seeks full-time legal interns and undergraduate policy interns for the Washington, DC office.   • Selection Criteria
    Candidates should be US citizens who are current law or undergraduate students with strong academic credentials, an interest in communications law (though experience is not required), and a commitment to public service.

    • Fall/Spring Externships:
      • For a Fall Semester externship, applications are due by May 1
      • For a Spring Semester externship, applications are due by November 1
      • Multiple externship positions available. The positions are unpaid, but your school may award credit.
    • Summer Internships:
      • For a Summer legal internship, applications are due by February 15.
      • For a Summer policy internship, applications are due by March 30.
      • Multiple positions for summer internships available. One legal intern position may include pay. The other positions will be unpaid, but your school may award credit.   • Application Should Include
    Resume, cover letter, a 3-5 page writing sample (excerpts are acceptable), references, and most recent transcript. Please make sure to indicate the semester you are applying for in your cover letter.
