Sharon R. Diskin has 40 years’ experience as an attorney in the Federal Communications Commission. After over 20 years in the Office of General Counsel, she made the move into the IG community, first as Special Counsel to the FCC IG and then as Deputy AIGI and AIGI. In March 2024, after a 15 months stint as Acting IG, she reassumed the position of AIGI that she held since 2018. As leader of the Office of Investigations, Ms. Diskin is responsible for managing a team of investigative attorneys, data analysts and support professionals engaged in a broad spectrum of criminal and civil investigations, the majority of which focus on fraud in the numerous multi-billion dollar telecommunications benefits programs funded through the FCC. In addition to this work, her portfolio also includes overseeing investigations pertaining to internal affairs and other non-subsidy related programs.  

Ms. Diskin earned her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Binghamton University.
