Ms. Jones has over 30 years of experience in the Federal Inspector General audit community. She was selected as the Assistant Inspector General for Audits (AIGA) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) Office of Inspector General in January 2023. She leads a dynamic team of auditors by focusing on strategic management for audit, audit quality and governance, communications, and employee development, in addition to providing expertise on complex audit issues and guidance on resolving and tracking open audit recommendations. Before being selected as AIGA, she served as the Deputy AIGA for 9 years (2014-2022) where she provided consistent leadership to her then division and provided input on audit policy for the entire audit office. Ms. Jones became an audit director at FCC OIG in 2008 after joining FCC OIG in 2007. 

Prior to joining the FCC OIG, Ms. Jones was an auditor with the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General (DOJ OIG) for 12 years. At DOJ OIG, she served as Assistant Director of the Financial Statement Audit Office from 2000 to 2007.  As Assistant Director for the office, she supervised a staff of auditors responsible for monitoring and oversight of 6 DOJ component level financial statement audits which included the annual financial statement audit of the Bureau of Prisons, US Marshals Service, Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Agency, and Office of Justice Programs. Her audit DOJ audit portfolio totaled over $7 billion in assets. She provided expertise and guidance on many complex audit issues including valuation for historical buildings, asset forfeiture accounting, grant accounting and accruals as well as making determinations regarding the resolution and closure of open audit recommendations.  

Ms. Jones began her career in 1991 at the Department of Energy OIG. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Bowie State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Concentration in Accounting in 1991. Over the years, she has served on several CIGIE community workgroups and participated in CIGIE training. She has also presented at the Association of Government Accountants Conference. Her professional certifications include Certified Public Accountant and Certified Government Financial Manager.
