Enforcement Bureau Chief Loyaan A. Egal leads the Privacy and Data Protection Task Force, an agency-wide working group that Chairwoman Rosenworcel created to ensure that the FCC’s bureaus and offices take a coordinated approach to assessing and addressing privacy and data protection concerns that affect FCC-regulated services.

The Task Force coordinates the agency’s rulemaking, enforcement, and public awareness efforts to provide a clear understanding of privacy and data protection obligations under the Communications Act, its implementing regulations, and various licensing terms and conditions.

Under the leadership of Mr. Egal, a former federal prosecutor with a national security background, the Task Force’s enforcement work reflects a deep understanding of the interrelatedness among consumer privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, and supply chain integrity.
