Downloadable Security Technology Advisory Committee
The DSTAC is a federal advisory committee that will "identify, report, and recommend performance objectives, technical capabilities, and technical standards of a not unduly burdensome, uniform, and technology- and platform-neutral software-based downloadable security system" to promote the competitive availability of navigation devices (e.g., set-top boxes and television sets) in furtherance of Section 629 of the Communications Act.
At this fourth meeting, the committee discussed draft reports from the Security Requirements for Downloadable Security Working Group (Working Group 3) and the Device Platforms, Variability, And Interfaces Working Group (Working Group 4). The Committee also considered other issues related to the DSTAC's work.
