The Working Group Issued Its Report to Congress
Under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the FCC Chairwoman along with her counterparts from NTIA and the Departments of Labor and Education appointed members of the Telecommunications Workforce Interagency Group (or TWIG)—formally called the Telecommunications Interagency Working Group – to provide recommendations to address the workforce needs of the telecommunications industry, including the safety of that workforce.
FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel thanked the Telecommunications Workforce Interagency Group for its important work in building its report to Congress. She noted: “The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law not only invested in broadband connectivity around the country, but it ensured that we focus on the workforce dedicated to creating those connections. We need to be forward-looking with an eye on the workforce needs of the future, including the diverse high-tech workforce needed to promote continued development and innovation in broadband networks, network virtualization, system integration, software development, and more.”
