In connection with the merger of Gannett Co., Inc. ("Gannett") and Belo Corp. ("Belo"), Gannett, Belo, Sander Media, LLC ("Sander") and Tucker Operating Co., LLC ("Tucker"), have filed applications for Commission approval to transfer control of licenses for thirteen full-power broadcast television stations from Belo to Gannett, six full-power broadcast television stations from Belo to Sander, and one full-power broadcast television station from Belo to Tucker. The applicants also intend to enter into Shared Services Agreements in four markets, Joint Sales Agreements in three markets, and option agreements.
The applications pertain to full-power television stations in the following markets: Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Houston, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Austin, Texas; Seattle-Tacoma, Washington; Spokane, Washington; Charlotte, North Carolina; Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Virginia; New Orleans, Louisiana; Boise, Idaho; Phoenix, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona; St. Louis, Missouri; Portland, Oregon; and Louisville, Kentucky.
The applications have been accepted for filing upon initial review, as listed in a Public Notice issued June 24, 2013. Petitions to deny are due July 24, 2013. Oppositions to the petitions to deny are due August 8, 2013. Replies to the oppositions are due August 20, 2013.
