This article provides information about resetting FCC Registration Number (FRN) passwords. To reset your FRN password, you will need to create a Username Account by accessing CORES and associate your FRN to the new username account. Once the FRN is associated to the Username Account, your username account password will now be your FRN password. There are two options for associating your Username Account to your FRN:
- Providing your Personal Security Question (PSQ) or
- Setting up a Personal Security Question (PSQ).
Steps to Associating your FCC Registration Number (FRN) to your Username Account, if you have a Personal Security Question (PSQ)
- Go to the FCC Commission’s Registration System (CORES) and log in with your Username and Password
- Click Associate Username to FRN
- Enter your FRN and a comment explaining why you are associating the FRN; click Continue
- Click the second option on the next screen, "enter the answer to Personal Security Question" and type the answer in the field; click Submit
- You will get a confirmation screen advising that your username has been associated to your FRN. You can now use your username password when logging in with your FRN.
Note: Your new password is available immediately.
Steps to Associating FRN to Username Account if you do not have a Personal Security Question (PSQ)
- Go to Support Services and click Set Personal Security Question (PSQ).
- Complete the information, check the Certify box and click Submit.
Note: You can track the status of your request by using the Tracking Number your received. A request to set up a PSQ is usually completed within one business day. You will receive an email when your PSQ has been set. Please do not submit multiple tickets.
- Go to the FCC Commission’s Registration System (CORES) and log in with your Username and Password
- Click Associate Username to FRN
- Enter your FRN and a comment explaining why you are associating the FRN; click Continue
- Click the second option on the next screen, "enter the answer to Personal Security Question" and type the answer in the field; click Submit

What does a password consist of?
A password should be a mix of 12-15 letters, numbers, and special characters and have at least three of the four conditions:
- 1 Uppercase letters (A, B, C, etc)
- 1 Lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc)
- 1 Special characters (~, !, @, etc)
- 1 Numbers (1, 2, 3, etc)
