To assist small businesses with any concerns regarding compliance with FCC rules and regulations, OCBO:
- Reviews and maintains a list of Small Entity Compliance Guides to assist small entities with understanding and complying with FCC rules and regulations.
- Facilitates requests for information about enforcement matters for small entities by coordinating with the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau.
- Coordinates with the Small Business Administration’s Office of the National Ombudsman to resolve issues concerning FCC enforcement actions.
The Office of Communications Businesses Opportunities (OCBO) is available to assist small businesses and other small entities, including small non-profit organizations, and small governmental jurisdictions, with any concern regarding FCC policies or practices. Small entities can contact OCBO with their questions or concerns by emailing OCBOinfo@fcc.gov
The FCC is committed to maintaining an environment where small entities are encouraged to engage with FCC staff without fear of retaliation. The Small Business Regulatory Enforcement and Fairness Act of 1996 (SBREFA) provides small businesses with a process for submitting comments to the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of the National Ombudsman (SBA ONO) with any concerns about FCC enforcement matters.
