Docket Number:
WT Docket 22-212

On November 5, 2019, the Commission approved the transfer of control of the licenses, authorizations, and spectrum leases controlled by the Sprint Corporation (Sprint) to T-Mobile US, Inc. (T-Mobile), finding that, as conditioned, the transaction would serve the public interest. In a settlement with the Department of Justice, T-Mobile agreed to divest Sprint’s Boost Mobile subsidiary to DISH Network Corporation (DISH). In connection with its purchase of Boost Mobile, DISH sought an extension of time to complete construction of its facilities for various of its licenses, so that it could build out a 5G broadband network to enter the mobile wireless market. Subject to a number of significant build-out and compliance conditions, DISH’s applications were granted on September 11, 2020.
